PMQ Pizza Australia-February 2012

Now that the busy holiday season is over there’s no time to relax. If you are like most people, you have probably made New Year’s resolutions; join the gym, quit smoking, pay off credit cards, etc., but what resolution do you have for your business?

In this issue of PMQ Australia you will find lots to help inspire a New Year’s resolution for more success in your business. One of those is Create A Marketing Calendar. There are many holidays and seasons you can use to generate more business and customers, but the key is to be aware and have a plan in place. A marketing calendar helps with planning your promotion by setting deadlines to get fliers designed and printed, organise letter drops, schedule staff and much more, but you have to be aware of the coming opportunity and prepare for it.

In preparing to market your restaurant and menu around a holiday or event you need to consider which promotional vehicle will best help get the message out. In Quentin Aisbett’s article, Spend Wisely: Offline Marketing is Not Dead, you will learn how to leverage the best price with radio, television and local newspapers. There is an art to dealing with media sales reps and Quentin gives you some inside tips.

Another article to help you think about ways to improve your  menu comes from Brandon Farrell. In his article Putting Toppings Top of Mind he will offer suggestions on how to incorporate small changes to toppings that will push your pizzas over the top and set you apart in your market.

If you are one to watch restaurant tends, we will also take a look at what many culinary experts are predicting to be the hot dining trends for 2012. You can find those articles on pages 7 and 16 along with a great profile on the Bono family and their pizza shop Bon Aroma, located in Bulli NSW on page 22. So kick back and enjoy another great issue of PMQ’s Pizza Australia.
